Our Conversation:

AR: What does it mean to you to be a woman?

LT: Such a simple question, but somehow it doesn’t merit a simple answer. I believe a woman is full of endless wonder, strength and independence. To be a woman is to be a chameleon of character, color and style. It’s the ability to be the leading lady in all roles of your life while being confident and cultured. Above all, being a woman means being free to be anything you want – thanks to the millions of women who have risen up against the odds to fight for our independence.

AR: How have you been the first?

LT: I am the first in my family to graduate with a Bachelor’s degree and the first to be the founder of a community service organization. I am also the first to hold an internship in New York City, and will be the first to move.

AR: What do you know that the women rising need to know?

LT: Trust your gut and your heart over any book, expert, logic or reason. The strongest tool at your disposable is your intuition. Develop a healthy mixture of faith, confidence, individuality, and the determination to face any bump in the road. You need to know that it’s only through supporting one another that we can make an incredible impact in this world.
